Resources in this section are related to the foundation or entry-level (or gateway) credit-bearing math courses students must take in beginning their programs of study. Traditionally entering students enroll in math courses such as Pre-calculus or College Algebra. However, those math courses may not be aligned to their programs of study. As a result, many students often struggle or even end up failing of courses that will not help them move any closer to their degree or career goals. Sometimes, poor outcomes in those courses hold students back from continuing studies in their area of interest. Institutions have been moving towards creating pathways with math gateway courses that align with students’ areas of interest.
