State launches new strategy to help transfer students earn 2-year degrees

Cuyahoga Community College awards degrees to former students who accrued credit hours at four-year universities

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Jennifer Janowich took general education classes at Cuyahoga Community College, mainly to save money, before transferring to what was then Baldwin-Wallace College in 2009.

Two years later, she got a letter saying she could receive an associate degree from Tri-C.

The community college had reviewed her BW transcript and accepted credits from courses she took at the four-year school. By applying those to credits Janowich earned at Tri-C , the community college awarded her an associate of arts degree... Read complete story
