About the Ohio Innovation Exchange

The Ohio Innovation Exchange (OIEx) connects industry and business with professors, students, equipment and facilities available at Ohio research universities. OIEx provides access to more than 13,000 faculty and 600 resources from campuses and laboratories around the state, with a mission to facilitate collaboration between Ohio’s leading academic and business minds.

From research partnerships, intellectual property and technology licensing opportunities, to business development and even student internships, OIEx fosters economic development and intellectual advancement across Ohio and the globe.

How to Become an Academic Institutional Member of OIEx

The OIEx web portal is populated from multiple data sets (Faculty Profiles, Equipment, Patents, Publications).

Partnering with OIEx requires an introductory conversation between a designated leader at your institution and an OIEx representative from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. This discussion will identify potential data sets (Faculty Profiles, Equipment, Patents, Publications) needed to get your institution into the system and introduce the designated roles associated with participation. (Note: Not all of these are needed to become an institutional member.)

The leadership at your institution will then need to sign and return an MOU to the OIEx representative. As this process moves forward, your institution should be compiling the necessary data files for submission into the OIEx system.

Use the webform below to initiate this conversation between your institution and ODHE.
