
Formerly known as NEOUCOM, the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is a community-based, public institution that provides interdisciplinary training of health professionals, offering both a doctor of medicine and a doctor of pharmacy degree. The NEOMED educational consortium includes the Rootstown, Ohio, campus, eight teaching hospitals, 10 associated hospitals and two health departments. The College offers a combined B.S. program with The University of Akron, Kent State University and Youngstown State University. In addition to these institutions, Cleveland State University makes up the educational consortium for the doctor of pharmacy program. NEOMED and its hospital partners co-sponsor graduate and continuing professional education programs for residents, physicians and allied health professionals. NEOMED also has collaborative arrangements with KSU and UA to offer graduate-level coursework and research opportunities in biomedical sciences and biomedical engineering leading to master's and doctoral degrees.
