Sinclair Community College, or simply Sinclair College or Sinclair, is a comprehensive institution of higher education that has made quality education available since 1887. The main campus of Sinclair is located on the western edge of downtown Dayton, adjacent to Interstate 75. The 80-acre campus is a blend of modern architecture and green space. The campus is easy to navigate, thanks to underground corridors and enclosed walkways that connect most buildings. Sinclair also has three learning centers attached to YMCAs located in Englewood, Huber Heights, and Eaton, and a campus center in Mason.
Serving more than 30,000 annually, students can pursue degrees and certificates in more than 200 programs of study. They can earn Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Individualized Studies and Associate of Technical Studies degrees. Sinclair's university parallel courses are designed for transfer to four-year baccalaureate programs. Additionally, Sinclair has a College for Lifelong Learning for older adults, and high school students can take courses for credit through College Credit Plus. Sinclair is also one of the largest providers of online education in Ohio, authorized to provide quality online learning opportunities to 48 U.S. states, including Washington, D.C. In 2016, Sinclair's Distance Learning enrolled almost 6,000 students in over 200 classes.
Sinclair’s Workforce Development Division has been named #1 in the region every year since 2011 by the Dayton Business Journal and annually provides training programs to thousands of area employees through partnerships with their employers. Over 100,000 people attended more than 1300 events held at the Sinclair Conference Center in 2016. In 2015, Sinclair opened the world’s first indoor flying pavilion dedicated to the training, education and applied research for unmanned aerial systems. In 2016, Sinclair was granted membership in ASSURE, the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Center of Excellence.
In 2017, Sinclair is scheduled to open a new Health Sciences Center that will consolidate all Health Sciences programs into one building and ensure state-of-the-art learning opportunities with simulation areas, a home care lab and expanded patient care facilities.
Sinclair is one of only 20 member colleges of the prestigious League for Innovation in the Community College and a Vanguard Learning College. In recent years, Sinclair’s tuition for residents of Montgomery County has been the lowest in Ohio.
