Chancellor Carey to Take Part in Business Roundtables in Jackson & Logan, Speak to Wellston Rotary Club

Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) Chancellor John Carey; Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation staff; regional business and education leaders; members of the Wellston Rotary Club; ODHE staff.   

Chancellor Carey will attend a business roundtable in Jackson to discuss workforce needs in the region and how to best ensure that students are prepared for the in-demand jobs of today and tomorrow. Attendees will represent several regional businesses and industries, including General Mills, Belissio Foods, Holzer Health System, Kenworth, Montgomery Trucking, and Electrocraft, to name a few.

From there, Chancellor Carey will speak about higher education items within the new state budget at the Wellston Rotary Club’s noon meeting. The day will conclude with a second business roundtable in Logan, with regional business, government, and education representatives from Smead Manufacturing, the Hocking County CIC, Keynes Bros. Mill, Hocking College, Tri-County Career Center, Logan Health Care, and the Logan-Hocking Schools, among others.
