STEMM Scholars, State Officials to Help Commemorate 11 Years of Choose Ohio First

The Choose Ohio First scholarship program last year allocated more than $12 million in aid to more than 2,500 students enrolled in STEMM studies at Ohio universities. To date, more than $130 million in scholarships have been awarded to Choose Ohio First scholars. Two in five recipients are first-generation college students. Choose Ohio First is part of the state’s strategic effort to strengthen Ohio’s position in world markets such as aerospace, medicine, computer technology, and alternative energy.

What:
The Choose Ohio First Scholar Showcase, a celebration of the Choose Ohio First Scholarship initiative – now in its eleventh year – and the students who have received the scholarship for their studies in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) fields.   

Agenda:
Wednesday, February 13, 11 a.m. (workforce panel discussion), 1:30 p.m. (poster presentation with Choose Ohio First scholars); 2:30 p.m. (formal program with remarks from Chancellor Gardner, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and COF scholars and alumni).
