GEAR UP Ohio
The GEAR UP Ohio project is focused on embedding a college-going culture in targeted schools and communities to increase the number of low-income students prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The project aims to increase academic performance, postsecondary preparation and enrollment, and awareness of financial and professional options for those students and their families.
Ohio has been selected to receive federal funding under the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant.
The grant – from the U.S. Department of Education – is designed to help low-income and first-generation college students prepare for college and receive the support needed to achieve success in postsecondary education.
