The Help Me Cross the Finish Line Working Group will explore approaches that will reward student progress and identify incentives that can increase completion.  


Structure, Timeline & Outcomes

The Complete College Ohio Task Force will develop and release a report that articulates an overarching framework for increasing the rate and number of college completions in Ohio. This report will build a comprehensive, cohesive action plan that is (a) focused on closing gaps in college completion rates, (b) ensures access and quality, and (c) builds upon strategies with documented records of success. The 21st-Century Commission on the Future of Community Colleges is charged with comprehensively examining the challenges and opportunities facing the fast-growing sector of higher education. A report by the Commission entitled, Reclaiming the American Dream: Community Colleges and the Nation’s Future, outlines seven specific recommendations for reforming the country’s community college system. 
Comparable, reliable metrics are essential for states under current fiscal constraints. Information on the progress toward, and degree completion of, all students in higher education allows state leaders to gauge whether policies are successful and helps inform future funding decisions. National Governors Association convened a Work Group on Common College Completion Metrics to make recommendations on the common higher education measures that states should collect and report publicly. The recommended completion metrics are found within Complete to Compete: Common College Completion Metrics
