Ohio Board of Regents Elects New Officers

Canton, Ohio (2013-03-29) — 

CANTON, OH, March 29, 2013 – The Ohio Board of Regents elected a new slate of officers on Thursday at its regular meeting, which was held at Stark State College. The newly elected officers are Chair Vinny Gupta, Vice-Chair Lana Moresky and Secretary Tim Burke. Each officer will serve a two-year term.

“Regents Gupta, Moresky and Burke have each demonstrated tremendous leadership and dedication as members of the board,” said Dr. Stephanie Davidson, Interim Chancellor of OBR. “I am pleased that they will continue their work on issues affecting higher education in their new roles as officers.”

Also at Thursday’s meeting, newly appointed Regent Tom Humphries was officially sworn in and welcomed by the board.  Humphries replaces James M. Tuschman.

 

 

About the Board of Regents

The Ohio Board of Regents is the state agency that coordinates higher education in Ohio. The agency is directed by its Chancellor, who is a member of the Governor of Ohio's cabinet. The Chancellor, with the advice of the nine-member Board of Regents, provides policy guidance to the Governor and the Ohio General Assembly, advocates for the University System of Ohio and carries out state higher education policy.
