To be economically competitive, our state needs to increase the percentage of working age Ohioans with a post-secondary certificate or degree to 65% by 2025. In order to reach this goal, Ohio needs to mobilize to raise educational attainment for in-demand, living wage occupations for citizens in every region, of every race, and of every background.
The annual Choose Ohio First Scholar Showcase, an event that honors Choose Ohio First scholarship recipients. This year’s showcase honors students from 46 of Ohio’s public and private colleges and universities. As some of the state’s most promising students, they are studying in several of the most innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM) and STEMM education programs in the country.
Annual meeting of the University System of Ohio Trustees. This year the Ohio Board of Regents has partnered with the Association of Governing Boards (AGB), the Inter-University Council of Ohio, and the Ohio Association of Community Colleges to develop the conference. The two-day conference kicks off at 2 p.m. today (November 17th) with pre-conference sessions geared toward trustees in the first three years of their tenure.
