STEMM Scholars, State Officials to Help Commemorate 11 Years of Choose Ohio First

The Choose Ohio First scholarship program last year allocated more than $12 million in aid to more than 2,500 students enrolled in STEMM studies at Ohio universities. To date, more than $130 million in scholarships have been awarded to Choose Ohio First scholars. Two in five recipients are first-generation college students.

Columbus, Ohio – Executive leaders from American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) and the State of Ohio are hosting an event to recognize four students from Columbus Public high schools who will sign “Letters of Intent” to participate in AEP’s Opportunities iN Energy (ONE) career-preparedness program, which will position them to earn the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal on their high school diplomas.
