OSU Newark and COTC to Host eTutoring Launch Event

The Ohio Board of Regents is partnering with Central Ohio Technical College and The Ohio State University at Newark to host a launch event dedicated to touting the benefits of the largest free online tutoring network in the country. The event will feature an overview of the Ohio eTutoring Collaborative and a live demonstration geared toward students and faculty. Ohio eTutoring Coordinator Karen Boyd will oversee the demonstration.

Kasich to “Light Up” Ohio’s New Broadband Internet Pipeline

Kasich will ceremonially “light-up” a massive speed upgrade to the broadband, fiber optic internet system linking Ohio’s higher education and research centers.  The tenfold upgrade in data transmission speeds for the system, known as OARnet, will benefit research and job-creating assets statewide and is the first-ever state-led initiative in the country.  The astonishing network speeds of 100 Gigabits per second (Gbps) will help advance research and job growth across Ohio’s medical research, higher education, manufacturing, engineering and technology networking corridors.
