Latest Educator Preparation Program Performance Reports Issued

The Ohio Board of Regents has released the second in a series of annual comprehensive performance reports for each OBR-approved educator preparation program in Ohio.

 

The Educator Preparation Performance Reports, which include performance data on the metrics identified for teacher and principal preparation programs, provide valuable information to a variety of audiences regarding available educator preparation programs in Ohio.

 

Four Ohio Higher Ed Institutions Awarded National Grant to Bolster STEM Programs

Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor John Carey today announced that Ohio has been awarded a technical assistance grant to help four institutions of higher learning bolster their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs. The non-monetary grant will provide assistance and guidance to Central State University; a partnership between North Central State Community College and The Ohio State University – Mansfield; and Shawnee State University, and will complement the ongoing work in this area for Ohio.

Ohio’s Career Colleges and Schools Honor John Carey for Lifetime Achievement

OACCS-carey-award-dec2013.jpgThe Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools honored Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor John Carey for decades of public service with the OACCS Lifetime Achievement Award. OACCS recognized Carey at the association’s board meeting today in Columbus. 

Carey was appointed Chancellor by Gov. John Kasich in April 2013. Most recently, he was an administrator at Shawnee State University.

– IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program named the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet) as a 2013 Laureate in the “Emerging Technology” category Monday night during its Gala Evening and Awards Ceremony at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change.

Board of Regents Welcomes Chief of Staff, Names New Legislative & Policy Team

COLUMBUS, OH, June 4, 2013 – The Ohio Board of Regents welcomed Matt Whatley as its new Chief of Staff Monday, and also announced a new legislative and policy team. Laura Padgett has been named the agency’s Policy Director and Eli Faes has been named Legislative and Public Affairs Director. Both Padgett and Faes are veterans of the agency, formerly serving as Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and Public Affairs Director, respectively.
