The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act is a program that provides certain protections from civil actions against service members who are called to Active Duty. Such limits in action can be mortgages, evictions, income tax payments, and many other areas.
- Student Veterans of America
Student Veterans of America is a coalition of student veterans groups located on college and university campuses all over the world that help veterans reintegrate into campus life and succeed academically. Each chapter must be an officially recognized student group by their university or college and provide a peer-to-peer network for veterans who are attending the school.
- American Council on Education (ACE) – Military Students and Veterans
The American Council on Education is the nation’s most visible higher education association that aims to advocate for the education opportunities that service member and veteran students deserve.
- Federal Interagency Academic Credentialing for Service Members Task Force
The Federal Interagency Academic Credentialing for Service Members Task Force is dedicated to identifying, supporting, and sharing promising practices and policies that promote awarding academic credit at institutions of higher education for prior military training, experience, and coursework by collaborating with various key stakeholders, including colleges and universities. - G.I. The G.I. Bill has existed since 1944 and provides service members, veterans, and in some cases, spouses and dependents with financial aid to attend qualified educational programs and degrees.
